Nigeria has announced the temporary closure of 41 schools following the kidnapping of 215 students and 12 teachers by suspected extremist groups. According to a government statement accessed by Noticias Argentina and Xinhua, the abduction of the students and teachers took place at a school in Niger State, in the center of the African country. In response, President Bola Tinubu ordered the temporary closure of educational facilities due to the risk of similar kidnappings. Earlier this week, in a separate attack, at least 25 female students from a public secondary school in the northern state of Kebbi were also abducted by suspected terrorists.
