An armed source, an intelligence official, and a militia member reported on Monday that armed clashes in northeastern Nigeria near Lake Chad have claimed the lives of about 200 people. They stated that clashes between fighters from the Boko Haram group and the terrorist organization ISIS in West Africa erupted on Sunday in the town of Dugon Chiku on the shores of Lake Chad. Another source confirmed that "around 300 fighters from ISIS in West Africa were killed in the clashes", while many of their weapons were seized. A Nigerian intelligence official working in the region stated that he is monitoring the situation.
